What is the most effective way to address the lack of copyright of AI generated content?

Solution1

Blockchain refers to a decentralized distributed database technology, which implements
consensus algorithms and cryptography among network nodes to ensure the reliability
and security of transactions (Chen et al., 2023).

Chen et al (2023) explain that all deals should be verified multiply before they can be
written Blockchain. Therefore, Blockchain is used in many fields, such as finance,
intellectual property protection, and supply chain management because it’s reliable and
safe mechanism. Moreover, due to its invariance and traceable features, Blockchain
could be defined as an ideal solution for recording and verifying IP rights, providing a
secure, efficient, and trusted means of AIGC IP protection (Wang et al., 2023). For
example, Kishigami et al. (2015) have created a blockchain-based system for
distributing copyrights and payments for digital content like music, videos, and e-books,
effectively authenticating the authorization and ownership within AIGC.

However, there are some drawbacks that make Blockchain a method hard to implement.
First of all, the initial difficulty of Blockchain is the selection of the specific technology.
Blockchain is a combination of many technologies, as Zhang, Xue and Liu (2019)
claimed, no single technology is a panacea for blockchain security and privacy issues.
The appropriate techniques should be selected due to the actual security and privacy
requirements and the context of the application, which makes the construction and
maintenance of a blockchain system require a substantial initial investment.
Additionally, it is the technical complexity of blockchain leads to the requirement for
technicists to master specialized knowledge in cryptographic protocols and
decentralized systems, making it even more difficult to implement (Zhang, Xue and Liu,
2019). Moreover, incorporating blockchain into existing technological frameworks can
be complex and expensive because it demands various changes to the current systems
(Zhang, Xue and Liu, 2019). Wang et al. (2023) also state that blockchain presents
challenges integrating into AIGC services due to its mechanism, while integrating into
AI models, the Blockchain system needs some core confidential data from the AI model
companies, which may not be accepted by the companies. Therefore, hinders the
application and implementation of blockchain in improving the AIGC copyright. In
conclusion, Blockchain could be useful to guarantee the security of AI models due to
its reliable and safe mechanism, but its technical complexity and the requirements to
core data of companies make it an ineffective solution. While the aforementioned
method falls short, the following strategy will provides an effective alternative.
